Homeschoolers Can Earn Athletic Scholarships

Homeschool students have cleared many hurdles to gain academic recognition. Research reveals that homeschool students score an average of 20 to 30 points above the national average on standardized achievement tests. Colleges and universities across the United States have begun to open their doors to homeschoolers.

Organizing a Local National Geographic Bee

Homeschoolers have fared well in most recent bees. Winner in 2005 was homeschooler Nathan Cornelius from Cottonwood MN. James Williams of WA won the 2003 Bee and in 2002 ten year old Calvin McCarter from MI was the national winner.

Music Makes A Difference

Music has long been promoted to stimulate creativity through listening, movement, and making up songs. Studies urge us to have our children begin learning an instrument as early as age 3 rather than waiting until we think they show talent. Yet with all this publicity, music education often remains one of those "frivolous" extras -- maybe we'll add it to the curriculum if there's time--instead of taking its place as a routine part of our children's schooling.
